My inspirational story

MY STORY

When i was at school i was always going home and writing in my diary about how I felt (which was usually very depressed and confused) I didnt really fit in and all i wanted to do was entertain.. Which the teachers used to say drew more attention to getting myself bullied!

I went through alot both at school and at home and found writing made me feel better, especially when i wrote whilst listening to Guns n Roses or Alannis Morisette. I used to draw pictures of myself as a female Axl Rose and image what it would be like to be popular.

When I was 11 the diary entries turned in to poetry and then in to lyrics. I had been given the nick name of 'Tiger Lilly' at school because I looked like the Disney character from Peter Pan. I adopted it as my writers name and signed off my writing- 'By Tiger Lilly'

I wrote a song called 'Hollywood Legend' and recorded it on to cassette tape and sold it at my School for £3!! That was a lot of money for 1 song on cassette tape in 1993 and for a short period of time I actually felt really cool and popular. 'Hollywood Legend" was about wanting to be popular but really not knowing where you were going or who you are. Quite deep for a 12yr old!

I continued writing for therapy during my education, I didn't really see myself doing anything with my songs but had a burning desire to be an actress and went on to train at The London School of Musical Theatre.

After I graduated I worked as an actress and ran a theatre company called 'Dream Maker for several years. In between auditions and teaching I worked for several TV and Film companies both in production on set and off and also in post production mainly at Pinewood Studios. I learnt alot about the entertainment industry worked and how to run a successful business which later on was a huge help in enabling me to develop my music as a brand.

At the age of 27 I was diagnosed with Borderline Personality disorder. After years of self harming and suicidal attempts I had become more and more evidentally unwell. I had started to self destruct and couldn't hold down a job or a relationship. Even friends started to disappear as they couldn't cope with my illness. I felt very alone and very confused and without hope.

Commonly for people with severe emotional disorders you end up wanting to help others so I created a showcase night in London called London Unplugged to give a platform for artists to showcase their music. I met a great guy and got engaged, ( I still had not showcased my own music as the songs were all about my personal experiences and really didn't think anyone would want to listen)

At 28 I had another break down and broke up with my fiancé, stopped running showcase nights and became isolated once again.

I was sat at home one afternoon and starred at the guitar my ex had bought to encourage me to perform my songs; I logged on to YouTube and watched an artist called Terra Naomi demonstrate a tutorial on how to play 'Say it's Possible' I learnt it and religiously started to play the guitar 4 hours every day until I could play it.

During this time I went to Egypt and brought a book with my called 'The Secret' by Rhonda Byrne. I had been in and out of therapy from the age of 11 although my diognoses happened many years later going in and out of A&E. This book was almost like a 'Last hope'

Sat by the red sea I read about the law attraction and how we have the power within us to create and manifest our own reality. I decided there and then that this was to become my new way of living. My discipline to get better and make a life for myself.

When I returned home I made a vision board and created a List of everything I wanted to achieve. A promoter from London (Sam From SEB Collective) offered me a slot at one of his showcase nights at Embassy London. I was so nervous to perform my own music and amongst the level of artists he had there. But I did it and it Kicked off many many more Live shows. I then went on to write and record my EP 'Love and Lies' and released it independently. I booked and planned my on UK Tour And went on to perform at venues like the 100 club, Hard Rock cafe and Kensington Roof Gardens to name but A few. I shot three music videos to my songs 'Chasing Ghosts'

(which we screened at BAFTA) and 'Affair' and 'Promises' which . I released my debut album 'Reflections' in summer of 2010 and received air play across the world.

During all this time I struggled with my mental illness. I still do but no matter how many times I fall down I get back up thanks to the the love and support of my loved ones and fans. This combined with an uwavering sense of self belief, strength and determination.

4yrs on from that moment I decided to make music my career I have gained a huge sponsorship for my 2nd album and 4th music video and planning an incredible tour of India in the Autumn. (see press release)

This year there is so much to come and I can't wait to create Inspire and meet more people to work with and ignite hope in to!

I will be doing a photoshoot with the incredible Koenigsegg Agera in Mayfair next weekend with photographer Helena Tepli from Semperey Magazine thanks to my sponsors The ESTD.

The shoot will take place on Saturday 3rd March before we driving down to Southampton for day 1 of filming the music video to the title track of my new album 'Memory Lane' on the Saturn 72 Yacht at Ocean Village Marina with Freelens Music Videos.

Head Make up artist Claire Appleby will be creating my look for this shoot along with international hair stylist Angelo Falzone and I will be wearing a dress by designer Laura Moore who I am also launching my clothing line with on ASOS

wow where do I even start! This is going to be a crazy year but the next few weeks and months even more so as it is all the preparation, organising and production for everything I am involved in.

I have been blogging daily and found it really therapeutic to share the journey with you all.

Today I was in the studio with my producer Jeff Copper
working on the new album 'Memory Lane'
we put the vocals down for 6 of my songs which was a real achievement as on day 1 I had wrecked my voice from attending a London Fashion Week Party a couple of days before (it always happens when you are trying to talk to people over loud music!) I had also made the mistake of eating dairy before hand so had a horrible film of mucus on my vocal chords! Jeff sent me off after that first session with a strict order to not to have any dairy products, rest my voice and my co manager Ray bought me some Manuka Honey which is a great aid for sore and tired vocal chords. I drank plenty of hot drinks (with no dairy) and after a days rest went back in to doing my vocal exercises and thank God when I went in to the studio today I sang 6 of the tracks with ease and dare I say it...SMASHED IT!!! I walked out feeling so excited about the album again and although I am missing out on a lot of the LFW events I am having to make this sacrifice to get the best vocal production down for the new album. Once that is all done I will be celebrating at the launch before going on the UK tour in April! But I cannot stress enough how important it is to look after your voice and not just expect it to be ready and willing however you treat it!

Tomorrow I have my first radio interview at 9:30am with Adrian Clarkson on Time 106.6 radio to talk about my new album and sponsorship with The Established before I head in to Denmark Studios in Madienhead to record the final 6 tracks.

My sponsors The ESTD are flying over from India on the 2nd March to attend my headline show at the incredible Roof Gardens before we set off the next day to film the music video to the title track of my new album 'Memory Lane'.

The shoot will commence on Saturday 3rd March on the Saturn 72 Yacht

We will be shooting at The Ocean Village Marina in Southampton with a fantastic cast and crew.

Freelens Music Videos will be filming the music video with Chris Wade directing.

The next day we will be heading to the beautiful city of Canterbury for a very long day of filming. Staring at Kent International airport with the Hawker 4000 private jet.

This will be a very early start as we aim to catch sunrise to get some stunning shots of the jet.

I think we will be stocking up on coffee and croissants!

Once we have captured the shots we will be heading over to film in Canterbury at a secret location for the scenes with the children who are acting out scenes with the young actress Charlize Hyams who is playing a young Tiger Lilly.

Later on in the day we will then be filming scenes with the Hollisters sports bike which is coming over from Germany!!

This has got to be the most exciting music video that I have done so far and I am thrilled to be working with such a fantastic company; The Estd.

January is usually known for the blues but I am very grateful to say that my January has been awesome so far!

The year kicked off with an album sponsorship to make my 2nd album 'Memory Lane' which will go in to production next month with producer Jeff Cooper.

Being a successful independent artist

I am very excited about how 2012 is panning out so far and feel blessed and grateful to all of you who are supporting me to achieve all my dreams.

Having been writing lyrics since the age of 11yrs old music has always been in my blood but it wasn't until I was 26 that I decided to pursue it as a career.

Almost 5 years later I am proud to see how much I have achieved in this short space of time. I have enjoyed two UK tours, received air play on national and international radio including several BBC stations, appeared in numerous magazines including OK and several newspapers. as well as releasing an EP 'Love and Lies' an album 'Reflections' 3 music videos from the first album, a single 'Letting Go' which was a collaboration with top LA production company Roxstone Music and I am now about to release my 2nd album 'Memory Lane' along with the video to the title track on March 31st 2012 after receiving full sponsorship.

I have had the pleasure of performing at venues such as the Hard Rock Cafe, Kensington Roof Gardens, Cafe de Paris and the majority of top London clubs and venues. On Feb 10th 2012 I will be performing at Catwalk Melody at The Golders Green Hippodrome which is a historic landmark in London.

Some people say its luck, some people say its hard work. I say its self belief and a positive attitude that you can achieve whatever you want if you use your time and resources to the best of your ability and give service to others a long the way. Hard work is not enough, you have to give yourself a discipline to be positive even when things get tough or challenging.

I am so grateful to those who have seen these qualities in me and wanted to be part of my journey and success.

Success is achieving your dreams and living the life you want. It's not measured in a record deal, a label or a chart position. If those thing come they are a bonus but I see myself as a successful independent artist who aspires to inspire others to go forward with faith in whatever it is they want to do.

Vocal coaching

Today was my first day back with my vocal coach Anthony Wade, ( also known
in the industry as Doctor Voice). Doc has trained and worked with some top
vocalists and last year had his own show on Sky1 where he took two
families and brought them together with the power of his vocal techniques
which are physical, mental and spiritual.

The way Doc approaches his students is by getting to the root of their
emotional blocks that has a direct effect on the voice and breaking them down.

Through a number of specially developed techniques his coaching not only brings out the
best in your voice but the best in you as a performer and artist. You leave his studios

feelingyou can and will be what you want to be.

Set in the trendy 3 Mills Studios you are likely to bump in to a number of
well known faces from not only the music industry but celebrities from the
big screen too.

Part of my routine as an artist is to harness control and versatility in my range, as such I will be training daily and seeing Anthony every week to perfect my vocals. 

Today we discussed working on my 2nd album and daily sessions using Skype .

It's an exciting time for me right now and working with an expert like Anthony truely adds

to the dynamics of making my mark in the music industry as a recording artist.

So....I'm in a bit of a sulky mood. I don't know why. Maybe it's because I am burning the candle at both ends and need a break, which is just as well as I am going to the New Forest for a long weekend with my husband to recharge my batteries before all the madness kicks in.....(by madness I mean fun and games of course).

Friday lull can't keep me from being grateful for a fantastic week though and I am excited about what is coming up.

This week I had the pleasure of playing at the Be on The Scene live music night on Thursday night and shared the stage with some fantastic acts including Tom Napier and Mark Villarosa at AAA in Kensington High Street and earlier on in the week with the Seb Collective for the Midwezt debut album launch party at Freedom Bar Soho which had support from Lewis Clay and Richard James. All acts were brilliant and It makes me proud to be doing shows with such talented up and coming artists!

Press wise this week has been brilliant. There is a full page interview on me in HAUNTED magazine and a full page article in the Slough and South Bucks Observer so that's been pretty damn cool if I do say so myself.

How a rising star from the UK is going to tackle America! Part 1

So I was chatting to my good friend Desiree this evening about HOW I was going to tackle America being an independent artist from the UK! Good question! Given that the UK is a small dot compared to the size of the US and I am one girl with a guitar with just a big dream that's a pretty tall order! But I like a challenge and the best bit is that by doing a blog to update you guys on how I am getting on that will not only keep my fans posted but also help other artists hoping to do the same some guidance. (thanks for the time Desiree)

I'm going to post everything in my blogs! the good! the bad and the uuugly! so nothing flowery will go in to this...I will tell you when I have been rejected! when I have success and most importantly how I bounce back up and keep trying!

PART 1:

My lead up time: I am aiming to get out there for March 2012 as this will be a good time for students being around for spring break! This gives me a whole 6 months to plan this trip.

Ok so I have picked when I want to go and have found out I need a work Visa so this is something I need to apply for but also found out that I need proof of bookings before I can apply. Chicken and egg situation much??.....

Thats the next step then...getting the shows booked so I can apply for my Visa to go out there. Where do I start? the US is pretty big ( I keep mentioning that) so why don't we look at a map and work our way around the states?....I think If I work on one State at a time It wont look as daunting...that way it will be like when I booked my own UK tours over the last couple of years!

HOW do I pick the first state? well, I've looked at my fan base and my popularity lays in Daytona! Florida Beach thanks to Real Radio Daytona . This is a good place to start your promotion before hand guys and girls...if you haven't already contacted online radio stations all over the world not just in the UK then do it! Online radio has a strong place in the market and many artists turn their nose up to stations unless they are FM....NEWS: if you gain just 1 fan from it you are 1 more closer to the ultimate goal!

To summarise!
when do you want to go?
how long is your lead up time?
Pick the state you have the most fan base in!
have you contacted radio stations in your selected area?
Start a facebook page so you can start seeing it all come together and watch it grow!

Now the hard part I am at is getting the shows booked. I'm not quite sure how to tackle this but I am going to start with my friends at Real Radio Daytona to put the feelers out and then get to the next stages!

This year has been brilliant and I'm working very hard but also having a lot of fun.

At the start of the year I played some fantastic

shows before taking a break to focus on planning my wedding to my darling husband Chris.

We tied the knot on June 10th before flying out to Bali for our honeymoon which was a fairytale!

Needless to say as soon as we got back I began working on my music and had the great pleasure of working with LA based company Roxstonemusic who wrote and produced my latest single 'Letting Go' which I launched on August 30th 2011 on iTunes world wide and celebrated it at a sell out launch party at AAA Kensington, London.

Being the driven lady I am I wanted to crack on with my second album which I have titled 'Memory Lane' And I am now recording the demo tracks whilst meeting with several incredible producers to work on the final production.

Aside from beavering away at my new album, I'm doing a lot of live shows all over the UK and radio interviews, building a loyal fan base not only here but in Australia and the US...

Which brings me to closing my blog and why I'm even more excited today!

I've taken the advice of several people and decided to take myself out to the US next March. I've got a group of fantastic people out in the states who are now working on booking my live shows and organising my PR out there.

I could not be more grateful to everyone who is supporting me and can't wait to meet everyone throughout the next year.

“I had been watching the news over a couple of days and every day I woke up and the devastation had just got worse and worse. I couldn't bare to sit by and do nothing when I knew that there was a possibility I could raise some money with music! Happy first day of the month everyone!! I hope you have all had a great start to the year! If you have any fun stories about January feel free to leave a comment on my blog.

January for me has been great. I started the year off by going to Holland to do a live acoustic session on COOL FM Netherlands with Lex, more commonly known as ‘The Dutch Guy’. It was a fun trip and I spent a few days in Amsterdam also.

On my return I went straight in to rehearsing with my new band and we filmed our showreel with director Prano Bailey Bond. We spent a few days in the studio with Jules from Silent Hill Studios in Guildford and cant wait to show everyone the showreel.

February is going to be a fun month as I am back performing! Hoorah!!

New single release with Roxstone music LA

As I write my first blog of 2011 I am playing the new single 'Letting Go' written by LA based songwriter Mirella Castellano from Roxstone Music and getting excited about our collaboration.

Mirella and I met on facebook in 2010 and connected instantly and through disucssions about relationships, love, life and music we started writing my 2nd EP. With four songs in pre production we chose to release the first single 'Letting Go' in 2011 and who better to produce it than her partner at Roxstone Music Rob Peraud.

Mirella Castellano is one of the writers on Roxstone Music’s roster, which was founded in 2008 in Los Angeles. Roxstone’s writers and composers have had their music played on every platform including film, television, radio and commercials. Mirella’s recent accolades include co-writing and performing songs that featured in movies such as “Love and Other Drugs” starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway, “Salt” starring Angelina Jolie, “Inhale” starring Diane Kruger and Dermot Mulroney. She’s also had a song feature on Randy Jackson’s Music Club Vol. 1 and worked with huge UK artist, Liz McClarnon on her solo album. She frequently collaborates with independent producers for new, up and coming artists.

Rob Persaud is a writer, producer and composer for Roxstone Music. He has had the privilege of working with renowned composers, James Newton-Howard and Hans Zimmer and has worked on scores such as Gnomeo and Juliet, Love and Other Drugs, Salt, The Last Airbender and Nanny McPhee 2. His recent TV and commercial work is endless, working on shows such as Top Chef, Fashion Show and Housewives of New York. As a producer, he was part of a number 1 selling album, Guilty by Blue, in Europe. Cup of Coffee and a Christmas Tree

On the 1^st day of December my true love gave to meeee…a mini sized Christmaaaaas tree-eee!...well actually he gave it to me yesterday and we decorated it with traditional candy canes and stars and its starting to look very festive indeed at chez Tiger Lilly.

I cannot believe how quickly December has come around. It all seems like yesterday when I was doing my final show at The Mayfair Club!

As I sit here with the winter flu and Lilly curled up next to me on the sofa, a cup of coffee by my laptop and nibbling on some mince pies, feeling the chill from the snowy weather coming in from ourside I want to take the time to say thank you all for supporting me over the past year and for some of you the past few years.

There are so many people I want to mention but I fear it will turn in to an Oscars speech but I do have to mention one of my favourite designers…Anoosh Naghibi! You all know him, his name is respected within the fashion world and every model, hair stylist, make up artist and photographer wants to work with him. He has been so supportive of my music and of everything I do. We worked together on the June page of my charity calendar and I got him on a pilot for a new TV show, then he got me to perform in the first Persian Musical at Arts Depot which was filmed by BBC Persia and he took much pleasure in watching me struggle with Farsi…but I do have to say thank you Anoosh….the dress you created for my final performance of the year at The Hard Rock Café was nothing short of genius!

I cant wait to work with you more in 2011 and see what we come up with!!

Highlights for me this year have been my 3 month acoustic

tour and covering some great mileage with Mr Raymond Pugh and Lilly dog….how many little woofas can say they have been on a road trip and stayed the night in the Marriot Hotel Newcastle! Lilly you lucky mutt you!! The tour opened at the much loved ‘Pizza on The Park’ which I feel privieldged to have had the honor as it has since closed down, (shhh no it wasn’t because of me lol)

The calendar for www.youthmusic.org.uk was another highlight. Working with 14 different creative teams to produce such a wonderful and unique product to benefit the charity that’s ethos resonates within me was a wonderful two month experience. There were so many amazing people who gave their time and resources to produce this calendar and words are not enough.

At the end of last year I had set out with the view that this year would be the year I put out my first album and with the help of many people like Helen Hunt, David O’flynn and Raymond Pugh I managed to launch ‘Reflections’ not only on i-Tunes and all digital download sites but in physical form also with a CD dual case and 12 page booklet.

Speaking of The Hard Rock Café, ive had the opportunity to perform in such fantastic venues this year. Pizza On The Park, Kensington Roof Gardens, 100 Club, and even at BAFTA for Nic Phillips who launched his DVD on screen acting and gave me the most wonderful quote-

When I was invited to speak at The Worthing and Arun MIND AGM it was very exciting but daunting at the same time, however any nerves i had were quickly put aside once i realized the impact i could make to those attending.

9 Months later..

This year has been incredible so far and on this chilly Sunday evening in September I thought I would take some time to think about everything that I have achieved over the past 9 months!

When I closed 2009 with a sell out show at The Mayfair club after releasing my first EP ‘Love and Lies’ on to iTunes and producing my first music video ‘Chasing Ghosts’ which was screened at BAFTA and covered by OK Magazine I made a conscious decision to make 2010 even bigger and better.

I sat down before new years eve and I wrote down a list of goals I wanted to accomplish in the forth coming year and in keeping with my beliefs in the laws of attraction I made my vision wall and launched myself in to the new year with self belief, determination and an unwavering faith that I would do what I set out to do.

I hope by sharing this with you all I will inspire you to go ahead and start making plans for a better life for yourselves, one where you are whoever you want to be no matter what the obstacles.

From January to March I crossed the UK on a 3 month acoustic tour with my best friend Raymond Pugh, my dog Lilly and my acoustic guitar! I played all over the country at some fantastic venues including the beautiful Richmond Theatre and the legendary 100 Club on

In between touring and enjoying meeting new people and making new friends and fans I collaborated with my good friend David O’Flynn from the band ‘Five To Midnight’ on my debut album ‘Reflections’ which was launched at the end of the tour at said legendary 100 club!

By March 2010 I was able to tick off two of my goals…

1) Book and complete an acoustic UK Tour

2) Record and launch my debut album at a legendary music venue.

After a fantastic start to the year I wanted to raise the bar and make my 2^nd music video to MTV standard. As always the LOA worked in perfect time and I was contacted by Nick Kiri from Film Creatives who expressed an interest in my music and before I knew it we had met up with director Nathan Theys and set about creating the the music video to my single ‘Affair’

With a cast and crew of 30 we shot the video in what is claimed to be the worlds oldest hotel, ‘The Red Lion’ in Salisbury. We had a lot of fun and I was blessed enough to have designers Renaissance Brighton and Mazalino provide garments to make the look and feel exquisite.

Whilst organising this incredible shoot I also was approached on facebook by a charity called Youth Music who had asked I would be interested in doing something for them. With my track record of working for various charities in UK I decided to give something a little different which also thanked those who I had been working with and created the concept of a calendar where every page consisted of a different team of photographers, make-up artists, hair stylists and designers. The Calendar took 2 months to organise and boasted two Guiness world Record Holders, Pavan Ahulwalia who holds the record for being the fastest hena tattooist in her trade and Stuart Phillips who holds the record for creating the worlds most expensive hair style.

By May I was able to tick off another goals.

3) Produce 2^nd music video to MTV standard

4) Create a calendar for 2011

The work was intense with everything and I was on a roll so wanted to continue working on my vision wall and achieving everything I had set out to do at the end of 2009.

The first run of albums had sold out and due to the finances all going to the music video and calendar I was in need of a sponsor for the next run. Once again the Laws of attraction came to my service and I placed a status on facebook that I needed a sponsor. A business Angel called Helen Hunt had been following my progress and was impressed with my attitude, hard work and the amount of charitable work I had done and straight away contacted me to say …’how much?’ Helen generously sponsored a 1000 of my albums to be pressed and again I was set to go on to reach the next goal.

Nothing that had happened was by chance or luck. Believing and working hard and using the laws of attraction to bring about my success was what was driving me.

Fast forward to September, my debut album ‘Reflections’ is now available for digital download on iTunes, Amazon, CD Baby as well as in physical form from my web store and with sales going out to New Zealand, Russia all over Europe and America!

To bring us up to date on Friday 24^th September I performed at The Junction in Cambridgeshire and picked up an Exposure Music Award! Hoorah! I can now be officially known as the ‘Award wining artist Tiger Lilly’ yeah baby!!

so to summarize

1) Booked and completed an acoustic UK Tour

2) Produced and launched my debut album at a legendary music venue 100 Club

3) Produced my 2^nd music video to my single ‘Affair’ with ‘Film Creatives’

4) Took on US PR company ‘WeRoq’ PR thanks to private investor

There are people professing to be ‘Life Coaches’ and charging astonishing amounts of money to give advice on how to live a better life from those who feel lost and low.

What needs to happen is friendship, support and praise for who we are and what we want to achieve.

I want to bring together people who raise other people up for love, for passion and not for profit and as such my first project is THIS!

TONIGHT!!

The Ocelot Magazine are celebrating their 50th issue publication run with a FREE ENTRY event at one of Wiltshire’s best music venues - Riffs Bar in Greatfield, near Swindon.
As well as an evening with live bands and DJs they are also giving away FREE BEER between the first and second act so get down early and holding the Ocelottery (giving away CDs and other goodies)
Riffs Bar was voted UK Music Pub of the Year this year in The Publican. That’s pretty impressive. It’s a great venue and it’s perfectly located just outside of Swindon in Greatfield near Purton.

Guitar Stools and Cigarettes

These guys from Swindon are a 4 piece acoustic band that can do their own written stuff but are also brilliant at covers. They've won the Swindon BotB two years running along with playing at the final of the National Music for Youth Festival at Birmingham o2 Academy, winning the Song Writting Award. They also headlined Swindon Youth Festival last year, and are headlining again this year on Sat September 11. Sweet Plums

These guys and gals have been making a name for themselves on the scene since 2008 according to their myspace. They are made up of Levi "Prune" Saunders, "Sweet" Cat Wylde, "Hairy" Dave Franklin, Ben "Sticky Fingers" Szulc, "Juicy" Jenny Plum and Sveet Doggy Plum. Their music is at once folksy, beautiful and uplifting and you can basically let it all wash over you. This lyrically brilliant outfit shouldn’t be missed (we especially like the track ‘Burn’). DJ Evil Ernie

You might know Evil Ernie from his Rage Club Nights at The Furnace. He is one of the best local indie DJs around and is really know as Mark Pitt, who is one of the stalwarts of the Swindon music scene and even used to write a column for us. Expect some really good music that’ll get everybody going until they get sweaty and stuff.

Giles Vickers Jones to presnt my music video launch night

I am really excited to announce that Giles Vickers Jones will be presenting
my music video launch night this saturday 4th september at Mary Janes Bar in Aldgate.

Giles is a very handsome and naturally talented presenter. He is currently presenting the 5th series of ITV At The Movies for ITV1 and ITV2 which was his initial idea and format. He successfully landed the role presenting for E! Entertainment covering high profile movie premieres in the UK and is televised worldwide. Through this he was given a weekly showbiz role to Los Angeles for which he won an international journalism award. Giles has also just completed writing three books, the first two out end of 2008 - 'The Best Day of My Life', and the'7 Worst Men in London' and the third - 'How to Be a Model' at the beginning of May 2009. He also writes a weekly movie column for Love it magazine - 'At the Flicks with Vicks'. Giles also has his own weekly LA Column in Reveal Magazine.

He was the weekly showbiz reporter for LBC and presented Playdate, the interactive dating show on ITV2. Giles was seen on California Dreaming for T4, living in Hollywood for 6 weeks as one of five trying to make it in LA. He subsequently spends some time there each year and is proving very popular with broadcasters. He was a presenter for Quiz Call as part of 4 Ventures new programming and also for Sky Vegas Live. Giles presented The Unproffesionals forITV attempting different professions from working as a stand-up comedian to working in an abattoir.

Giles co-hosted V and the Reading Festival shows for the ITV Network, interviewing the bands and linking the live performances. He also anchored the late night showITV at the Festivals! He can regularly be seen hosting corporate events as well as charity auctions.

Giles reported for Body Talk, a Channel 4 health and fitness show, and presented on GMTV for Lorraine Live. He also made regular appearances on the Showbiz slot reporting from the Soap Awards.

Tiger Lilly & Emiko planning a tour

In one of my previous blogs I introduced you to an amazing artist from New York who had invited me to perform with her in London on 21st September at Roadtrip at a private industry showcase. A few weeks on from this and we have made a fantastic friendship which has led to the exciting opportunity to tour together.

I want to tell you all about Emiko!

At the ripe old age of 12, Emiko had already "retired" from classical music to begin making her mark in pop music. Having played piano since she was two and half, Emiko was transforming from classical piano prodigy to rock and roll starlet. Now, flash forward to April of 2010 when she was signed to a worldwide record deal by Famous Records with distribution through Universal Music Group and you can definitely say that Emiko has earned the title of "lifer" in the music industry.

A three time featured performer of the Songwriters Hall of Fame New Writers Showcases, Emiko has graced the pages of Billboard Magazine, FM Sound, Music Connection, and other mainstream music publications. MTV has revered her as being "[Emiko is] incredible live! [She totally sucks you in!!!]" and as an award winning songwriter with credits under her belt for SONY/ATV, 2009/ 2010 saw Emiko hitting the studio with Grammy nominated, multi-platinum producer Tommy Faragher before leaving on a world tour encompassing Asia, Europe and the US. Some tour highlights included the Steelbridge Song Festival with Jackson Browne, the Sun Valley Pavilion at Acoustic Weekend with Keb Mo', Après Ski 2010 at Sun Valley, showcasing at Japan Music Week and The 2009 Special Olympic World Winter Games.

Emiko's new album comes on the heels of two EP releases and the critical success of her debut album "Here Lies Tinkerbell," all of which have had #1 chart success in the UK and Japan. And as if her own writing, recording, and record deal wasn't enough, she is also half of The May - December Project, with duo co-writer, legendary drummer, Liberty DeVitto (a la Billy Joel, Meat Loaf, Elton John, Carly Simon, etc).

The world around Emiko is also starting to take notice of her savvy business mind. In July of 2008, Emiko was featured in Young Working Woman as one of New York's most successful entrepreneurial women in business and in November, 2009 Emiko gave a keynote speech in both English and Japanese at the first ever Japan Music Week in Tokyo.

Currently, Emiko makes her home between New York, London and Tokyo - "...really, home is wherever the music takes me!" she says. Hard at work in the studio on her next album, it can surely be said that Emiko is one step closer to her favorite saying, If theres life on Mars, theyll buy my album!

Throughout my career and even going further back to when I was a little girl, whatever I did I always wanted to include as many people as possible and ‘share’ in any opportunities that came my way and it is something that I still love to do today.

Sadly not everyone thinks this way and when you are an open person you will encounter people who will try and put you down and throw obstacles your way. Those kind of people I just feel sorry for because they don’t see beyond themselves.

I may not be perfect, but I have the ability to look at an opportunity and think how many ways It could be used to benefit other people.

I’m going to keep this short and sweet and end with this….

The next time you have an opportunity, stop and think how you can share it.

The next time you see someone else doing really well, stop and praise them.

The next time you think about being negative about a person, stop and see the good in them instead.

So I conclude, share the success and spread the happiness and leave the negativity behind you, it serves no purpose.

Surround yourself by genuine loving people and watch how your life will change.

I CHOOSE to continue to inspire, motivate and share.

Planning my next music video

oooh la la la la......today has been go! go! go! I'm not sure how much sense I'm going to make as my brain has been on overdrive today but here goes.

I have been given a very exciting project to film my next music video for a large campaign! I wanted to share the opportunity and opened it out to everyone to be involved in so many different ways!

This video is aiming to get everyone involved and is my biggest project yet!

Hoorah My first Blog

Yay my first blog! I am going to attempt to do this daily and see how I get on!

Today I have been busy beavering away at all the events coming up from now until the end of the year but I want to tell you about the one that is coming up first and how it came about!

Its really exciting! I met an amazing lady called Helen Hunt who owns a company called
I-want.socialgo.com. I-wantsocial.go.com is a website for investors, business angels and entrepeneurs.
I pitched my album on there after I joined and Helen loved my music and the work I did with various charities so very kindly invested in my album which now means I can get 1000 copies printed! hoorah!! Thank you Helen!

Helen is an inspiration and her website has helped a lot of people achieve the success they want. There was a competition on the i-want.socialgo.com site to be in a scene in the new sew Sean Bean movie 'Clean Skin' which she also had invested in ... to cut a long story short, during our conversation whilst waiting around on set I was explaining about my up and coming events and what I do with organising everything from concept to performance and follow up. I wanted to give something back to her so I offered to help out with the organisation of a monthly networking event for i-want.socialgo.com

A day later I had organised an event at JuJus on Sat 21st August and designed the flyer and started promoting the night.

The event is targeted at business people from all walks of life. No matter what industry you work in, or what your role is, if you need to connect with other business people then this is the event for you. Its being held in a lovely, relaxed venue with the added bonus of an after party (something very few networking events have). It will be held once a month, but the first event is a must attend. You even get to see me perform! What more could you want.
